Hey there

Manuella here 👋
I became a Pilates Instructor after discovering the wonders of the Pilates method on my own body. Unlike many instructors, I was never a professional dancer, gymnast, or athlete. Although I took ballet and absolutely love dancing, I was never “ballerina flexible” or “athlete strong”. I was someone who had chronic lower back pain in my early twenties. Yeah - shocking, I know! I tolerated pain for over ten years from an injury that didn’t get enough attention. I hurt myself in gyms and never found proper guidance.
Then I discovered Clinical Pilates. Within a couple of months, I learned how to move properly — and the fact that I could get stronger and do simple daily tasks I couldn’t do before was mind-blowing. That ten-year-old pain from a past injury was gone. Chronic pain, no longer present. And THAT, my friends, was eye-opening! I felt a strong urge to learn more... and to pass that knowledge forward.
Since starting to teach Clinical Pilates, I have met people with all sorts of conditions and injuries and have become even more curious about how the body works. So I went back to uni, and after five years of learning, unlearning, re-learning, and practising, I completed a Master’s in Exercise Physiology.
💪👩🏻🎓🎉
I’m passionate about moving the body in a functional way and helping people build strength for what matters to them. I believe everybody is unique, and movement is adaptable, and it can be made suitable for any and every body at any stage of life.
At the start of 2020, I had the privilege of continuing to guide movement practices online. A different and new way to move for all of us, but a very efficient way to keep our bodies mobile through our busy (and locked-down) lives. And I wouldn't be here without you. So thank YOU for trusting the process, trusting my guidance and being genuinely curious about achieving a healthier version of yourself.
When I'm not behind the screens...
guiding movement practices, you'll find me hiking, sipping good coffee or watering my hundreds of indoor plants. 🌿
